Im not related directly or indirectly to Career Fair but what I know is that they made a certain amount of money and that the committees have been treated for the appreciation. Its been the same every other year so why bring it up now ? If you have proof that theres been monetary swindling, then prove it, or else you're being confounded to baseless allegations and accusations that you might have to answer for.

Where do you think appreciation dinner money comes from ? of course it has to come from somewhere. CareerFair turned in a profit so they deserve the outting. To the committees that were not invited, this is because you have been deemed not to have contributed sufficiently. Require further clarification ? Talk to your respective directors.

Yes... its true. Any event you join will eventually end up in an appreciation dinner for you. You cant say that the directors are swindling money unless you have proof. Join CCIP, UNite, CareerFair or any huge events, make sure you contribute sufficiently and you will be entitled to a good dinner.
 

yeah i agree , any events there's appreciation dinner.. but compared to those events i joined b4.. this time the career fair is .. way too much... my previous appreciation dinner at genki sushi and redbox was rm700+ in total.. for 25 ppl that also we 'cheated' stad... i dont believe stad would allow careerfair to use up RM 25976 for their appreciation event.. that is like 37 times (37 kali ganda) more than what we 'cheated' from mmu. if STAD really know about this amount, i dont think they would allow. and the money we untung... we put back into STF also.. then my SAP point got write RM10k sponsorship .. dapat SAP point summore... see the money we earn also masuk STF ... aihh i dunno la..

Very true. The initial cost that was used is from the Student Trust Fund. FYI there are about 170 individuals who have gone for the dinner. its RM 100 per person inclusive of taxes and its RM12 per movie ticket. In addition to the transportation provided the eventual cost is definitely over RM 20k. Is SRC going to do anything about this?

To the owner of the blog and the writter of this entry Career Fair - "The right place to start your career" please ensure that your fact and figures are correct before posting up in the blog. To a certain extent when you do not have such fact and figures at hand, it can be counted as defamation or accusation with pointless support documents.

Details of your entry are definitely an overheard from some people who can be directly or indirectly linked with CF during the initiation planing. But i am pretty sure that the news you had received are not from the me and my few right hand men/women who help me put together this events: both the Career Fair and the Appreciation Dinner.

To those who is sad and angry at Career Fair because of your resume, I would like to apologise for any problem caused. And fyi we had tried our very best to provide to all but we have limits to it. Therefore once again, I would like to apologise if there is a incovenience caused.

As for the money part. We can kindly set up a meeting and show you the accounts. And I can ensure you, the WRITTER of this blog your figures are wrong. And I am pretty sad that you accused me of monetary manipulation. If you have such prove of such thing have occurred please kindly set the meeting up with ME, STAD and FINANCE.

To a certain extent I would like to request for a meeting with the writter of the blog since you have the best intention of exposing the truth of MMU events. I will give u my side of stories.

Why there is such forward about unfairness? We select those who COMMIT to the event. And for those who are not chosen, you may kindly refer you case to your direct head of bureau.

To the amount used for the appreciation yes i do agree it is a huge sum of money. We earn this money from sponsorship.The question over our operating cost? STAD only cover at apprximately 16% while 84% of operating cost is covered from sponsorship money. Yet our sponsorship money is in excess and therefore I believe the committee of Career Fair deserve to go for such extravagant appreciation dinner and movie. Take note CAREER FAIR only have STF help at 16% of our operating cost. NOTHING MORE. WE FIND OUR OWN FUNDS!! IT IS WRONG TO USE THE MONEY YOU ASKED/EARNED/SPONSORED?

To student who like to join any events, open your eyes and pick the event you would like to join. You are most welcome to COMMIT yourself to the next career fair and hopefully u can enjoy such dinner too.

Dear writter you have specifically question about my previous involvement and all money.... we can gladly meet up with the presence of STAD and FINANCE to clarify such issues. What you heard from people may or may not be the truth!! Since you like the truth then go to the person directly before posting up such post!!

Ya saya faham duit anda adalah daripada PENAJA yang korang susah payah dapatkan.Walaupun demikian, adakah kelab lain tidak mempunyai penaja ke? kelab lain jalankan aktiviti, mempunyai penaja penaja yang lebih banyak dan duit yang lebih banyak. Tapi, mereka pulangkan duit balik kepada STAD dan juga DUIT SPONSORSHIP kepada STAD supaya tahun depan diorang dapat duit ini balik, sebagai OPERATIONAL COST diorang.

Soalannya ialah...adakah anda rasa anda LAYAK untuk appreciation dinner yang sedemikian mewah kalau dibandingkan dengan performance anda. Feedback daripada careerfair oleh pelajar pelajar MMU : "@#_(@#!@#" adakah anda aware dengan apa feedback pelajar? Adakah anda mempunyai "suggestion/feedback box" Since post ini bukan saya yang buat, teammate saya yang buat, so saya sebenarnya tak jelas juga. Even at my workplace as well. There's Dark and Brightness. What's uNite issue by the way ? anyway rm20k for appreciation dinner and the luxurious place you guys have, is way UNACCEPTABLE. i be SRC also appreciation dinner SENDIRI BAYAR. anyway i think STAD must take action... no matter the money come from sponsorship , there is a policy saying all sponsorship or balance must go back STF, NOT own pocket(go such place, worst than monetary exploit)

actually, if they earn the money. Nobody, not anyone of you, has the right to say if they are right or wrong. should they decide to give ang pow to everybody, it's not for you to say. the money is out of MMU's jurisdiction but in theirs. your trust fund has been used for the function. regardless of excess. if the event was a flop (like a certain night) then it's a public matter. none of you have the right to demand anything.

From a student point of view, I would like to urge all of you to think before you speak in this comment box. Do you have proofs for all the statements that you made. If yes, go ahead. If no, stop accusing others. Things you heard may be true or it may be just pure rumours. I am sure you wouldn't like others to say things which are not true about yourself. Even if you were to curse/scold/f*** all you want in this blog to all the committees, what justice will you get in the end? Well, you may opt to go directly to the STAD dir regarding this matter. Do you think that STAD will read this thread. Man,go directly to him or any authority if you really want justice. I am sure the career fair team would stand foward to clarify things.

As a student who benefited from the Career Fair, I noticed that the committees worked really hard to get the companies for US get to a JOB. If you think that it's so easy to get SO MANY companies to the an event,think again! If you think that it's so easy to get SO MANY sponsors for an event, think again! If you think it's so easy to conducts SO MANY interviews in ago, think again! I am sure during the event, there are mistakes made here n there. But, nothing is perfect right? Sincerely,I would applaud the event this year. I personally think that it was great judging by the response from the companies as well as the students. I have no idea about the rules of the STF funds really. But, I am sure that every club (or perhaps 90%) do kinda "misuse" the money for other purposes. Those are probably MINOR and it's covered up so nobody make a BIG fuss about it. Small or large in sum, it's still cheating. Face it, no one is THAT honest in this world. This is a harsh truth. CF committee sees this as spending their hard earned money from sponsorship. Seriously, I dont see anything wrong with using their hard earned cash.

If students are not allowed to use the hard earned income for their appreciation. Logically, why should students work harder to get sponsors. They might as well aim to the border line. Haha, if all this while you have been paying for your own appreciation. All I can say is, that's a pity. If your club/event can only afford KFC,then KFC be it. IF your club/event can afford TGI/CHillis/JOgoya, then that will be it. Big or small it's still an appreciation but nobody pays for their own appreciation.

If the students are allowed to use the hard earned income for their appreciation. Then, this will serve as a drive for everyone to work hard. So, the harder you work, the more you gain. If the use the STF money for appreciation, then it's unfair but this is their own sponsors money. Do you see the logic?

They deserved this appreciation for their income generated as well as an excellent event. ;)

I get 1st class , both of my resume is in jobstreet.. what the fuck man.. i submitted three resume , only 1 ended up in INTEL while the other 2 is in JOBSTREET... i want the other 2 in Agilent and another one for Jalaa... fucker all masuk Jobstreet.. then my roommate who is a non-1st class... he dapat some freaking EBROWSX dunno how to spell.. First congrate the unite and career committie for organizing a great event but I think the events is no a succesful one. Secondly, its ok for them to enjoy some of the sponsorship fund but please do not masuk pocket the money. If wanna, masuk pocket, please masuk to all student pockets so we could sama-sama makan the money. Lastly, please do not return the money to STAD as STAD is experience in gelapkan duit and pure money sucker. You can notice that the drector of finance and stad every year change car. From Proton Iswara to Proton Wira and now Toyota Vios and Honda City. You can see the car parking outside STAD building. Since SRC is a dead society, you as the committie member who have the power to use the student trust fund should buy projector, laser color printer and ink, computers, and lab and teaching equipment and donate them to MMU. You are a sohai if u think STAD and finance will use the trust fund to buy these teaching equipment for us. Their will only use the money to buy their cars. This is for our good. Forget about SRC. The main objective of SRC is to get SAP points and for decorating their name. Unlike Malacca SRC in Cyber is control by MMU. Me as a final year student does not even have a chance to print my FYP report for free at the lab. 2 B/W printer and 1 Color laser printer is not enough for 500 foe student. Furthermore, after 1 day, the color laser printer ran out of ink. B/W printer u wil need to book for future usage (1-2 days advance booking coz too many of us) The printer is like every 20 pages u print the printer will jamm the paper. So please do not fuck among ourselves. Lets unite and fuck kau MMU. Thank You

Again, you have no idea whom you are accusing. I certainly do have experiences in clubs/societies. May be even more than you or may be less. Trust funds (RM110 per student) are used for activities organised by the clubs & societies. It quite a big sum you see, but not much is usually allocated to each event because there are so many clubs and societies. Also,there are so many MAJOR events organised in MMU, and most of the HUGE ones are not totally dependant on the trust fund. WHy?Because it's not sufficient. So huge events will have to rely alot on sponsors. Funds in monetary/material from sponsors are what each clubs/societies earned from. That would be classified as their personal club's fund generated. At the end of the day, if there is income. It's their money, not trust fund. So why argue over people's money.

The reason? If you had have enough experiences, you wouldnt even have asked this.

Well, when you begin with an event, you apply for budget from STAD. Let's say your proposal is 50k and STAD allocated only 10k. To have things kick start, you will definitely need some cash in hand, use the 10k wisely. The remaining 40k? Seek for sponsorship. To seek sponsors, sometimes you just contact AS Many companies as you can, maybe 100 or 200 or more. Depending on how much of effort you are filling to put in. Well,most sponsors will only confirm at last stage...if you're lucky early. At the end of it, you might get little,enough or maybe MORE. When there's more...that's your income. I am sure that every event/club/societies has their abilities to find sponsors.Does that mean that they are not entitled for the trust fund which are meant for the use of societies? You get what is approved from STAD, the remaining you work it out on your own whether it will be sufficient or not,that's the club's matter.

Some events may seem to us students as pointless, but again what will our campus be like when there are no events. The main purpose of having events is to train students to sharpen their organising and leadership skills. Even if the event sucked to the max,the important point is that we learn from it. If you dont fall, you will never learn. You may not see these points as I do. But, this is what I think it is. So, don't criticise people who took the effort to organise something. They are learning. ;)

Ok guys, i just got back from lunch with some of the seniors that graduated from MMU. And them working already also know about this issue. Chan Tuck Yuan was our main table-topic of the day.

Chan Tuck Yuan was the ex-SRC 2003/2004 Treasurer. Someone suspected him gelapkan SRC's budget. He and the STAD ppl very 'CLOSE' and my friend overhead this conversation between Chan and some1 in STAD

STAD ppl: Hey, RM5k sudah dapat? ok tak
Chan : OK , kalau saya nak lagi saya bagitau

something like that coz it happened in 2004 and my friend no longer remember the exact comversation. Since he's graduated already, now only he dare to reveal this to us. He said Chan seems to be able to get budget ANYTIME without any proposal or masterplan... becoz he and the STAD VERY CLOSE.

During CCIP 03/04 which is under CHan Tuck Yuan , he also have power over the budget part. i think he was a director or something, he wasted more than few K for the CCIP dinner which was a total failure. and during the SRC AGM which my friend attended, the financial report for CCIP under MISC is A LOT few K also... this is 1 of his technique in money swindling... u put all those expenses under MISC even his own personal expenses.

So, being a treasurer of SRC and CCIP and now the CareerFair. I'm not sure what else activities he's in ... who knows he even manipulated the account for College festival as well !! Who knows rite.

But the graduated seniors told me they are surprise to see FINALLY GOT PPL TAKE ACTION already. which means this blog.. i salute the blog owner for having BALLS to reveal this truth. However, the seniors said there's no use.. they actually reported to last year's SRC and no actions has been taken.

This Chan Tuck Yuan not even has problem with financial but also his attitude... He is famous for bullying students all around.. last time until now... there's a lot ppl dislike him because of his bad and rude attitude. Is there anyone or any victim here who would like to reveal your experience?

The event is over, their appreciation dinner has over. Do you expect a refund? People said want to sue uNite but nothing has been done until now. 1) he got asean scholarship after his PMR and went to singapore. however, he got EXPELLED bcos he was caught having and watching pornography( yes u read it right. PORNOGRAPHY) at the hostel!! how dumb can he be?

2) the ever famous story that the whole of mmu knows: he had sex with a girl at the CLC roof top back in melaka!! champion to this guy!! i wonder how his gf can tolerate with him?

3) he copied in exam: just recently a friend of mine who is in accounting informed me that she SAW, i repeat, she SAW with her own eyes (not heard from anybody else)that he copied in his exam. the lecturer even confiscated his paper!! champion!! u see, i have graduated from mmu, but i can even know about his disgusting behaviour!!

4) and now he is into money swindling? i am not suprise. he has been committing this fraudulent act ever since he was a treasurer in SRC. and guess wat, he is majoring in accounting. no wonder he has the capability to do that. wat a pity that mmu has created a person like that to become an accountant!! he really brought shame to mmu and the whole accounting batch!!

Carrer Comms are just a gang of people that always organise event in MMU, they know all the procedure well, apply their power to gain some benefit which couldn't be done by the normal citizen in campus, obviously like having their appreciation dinner at star hill. Guys, if you want to claim bakc your trust fund paid to MMU, just join as many as event, and climb up to high post, possible you can get back your money, more even you can return your ptptn loan, i'm not kidding. My fiend who was in VOICES, he told me he kept RM15000 for himself.

i know the hell of a person this chanty is...u wouldnt want me to go near there to report all the bad things about him...things can get preety ugly....to be fair to him let's just restrict the topic in this blog to his money swindling issue...period.

I am an ex-student, and apparently it seems that the intelligence of the students lately have been constantly dropping (YES to you all commentors that only know how to join the bandwagon and sulk, bark, yell and scream without properly checking should the information is in fact accurate or otherwise).

Have any of you verified with him (the director) and show the proof to the rest yet? Rumors can be rumors, till the end. Some might claim to know somebody so good that he could tell the person is wearing his auntie's undergarments to sleep every two nights in the month of april when the moon is bright. But it is only still a claim, unless of course, there's a definite proof.

If anybody ever did that, then post it up somewhere to enlighten the rest. Don't just simply bark here and there. You'll end up like a stray animal which will be shot in the end because you're causing nuisance. I'm agreeing with Michael above. Back then we did request a few thousand budject from STAD (to buy a camera for the SPB), and they did ask if the money is cashed properly. If anyone else overheard the conversation without the head and tail, they can accuse us of money laundering too right?
